The Ice Bucket challenge to raise awareness about ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) has created a lot of buzz around the world. Many celebrities have taken up the challenge and have posted their videos online and in turn nominated at least three of their friends or colleagues. Supporting the cause, our beauty queens too have taken it in their stride and are going all out in its support.

Dia Mirza took up the challenge given by Ashish Chowdhry and nominated actors Hrithik Roshan, Ali Fazal and ace photographer Atul Kasbekar to take up the challenge. She posted her video taking up the ice bucket challege and wrote: "Thank you Ashish Chowdhry I

It’s a challenge that has gone viral on the social media, one that US President Barack Obama politely rejected after being nominated twice. Welcome to the Ice Bucket Challenge. 

Now, the charity dare has crossed the world to reach Hyderabad and Sania Mirza was one of the first in India to step up.

In the Ice Bucket Challenge, people pour ice-cold water on themselves in a bid to raise awareness on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. After completing the challenge, the person has to post their video and then nominate three others, who have 24 hours to take it up or else, will have to donate $100 to any charity working for neurodegenerative disorders.
