<a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/jumpple.1.0.1.zip" target="_blank">Jummple Download</a>
Protect your site 24/7 with constant monitoring. Receive instant notification whenever anything at all causes your site to go down. Measure latency as well. This is a paid service, so once the trial period is up you will pay at least $10 monthly.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    sms notification</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    log views</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    monitor keywords, to detect errors in content</li>
</ul>

Prospress <a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/prospress.1.1.3.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>
Set up a speedy auction site in less than a minute. This is a beautiful plugin. I would definitely recommend it for this purpose of launching an auction site. After installation configuration is quite simple. Your current theme is also easily integrated.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    very clean interface</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    feedback rating system</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Paypal, credit card, and bank transfers supported</li>
</ul>

Google Maps Store Locator <a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/store-locator.1.6.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>
This is a very cool plugin, but the author went on haitus in 2010 and said he might not return until 2012. This is too long to leave a map plugin sitting. This particular area develops far too quickly to let it lie dormant for two years.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Multilingual, including international character sets</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Map Designer to customize the look of your map</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Branding is easy</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    easy drop down list of city locations you define for your locations</li>
</ul>

WP Stripe <a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-stripe.1.3.2.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>
Stripe.com offers an easy way to start accepting Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards online. You do not need a Paypal account and Stripe.com handles storing and securing all the card information for you. The drawback is that to accept Stripe payments you must reside in the U.S., though your customers can be anywhere in the world. I wonder, though, how it handles things like the European Visa Electron card.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    2.9% + $0.30 per successful charge, no fee if not successful</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    funds transferred to your bank within 7 days</li>
</ul>

WangGuard <a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wangguard.1.4.5.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>
If you are having troubles with spammers registering at your site, you need this plugin. It is free if you have fewer than 500 registrations each day or if you make less than $200 per month. In other words, it is free to most of us. This provides no protection against comment spam, however. Custom registration forms might not be compatible, though.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    both Multi-site and MU support.</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    BuddyPress support</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Black Hat SEO protection</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Database cleansing of spammers</li>
</ul>

My Brand Login <a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/my-brand.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>
Customize your site’s login, registration, admin panel, and lost password screens.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    color picker to customize background</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    control image and color of each page</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    get rid of the WP logo for yours</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    employ a fade feature for a cool effect</li>
</ul>

Cleeng Content Monetization <a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/cleeng.2.2.16.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>
Cleeng introduces a new way to monetize fragments of your content. It reminds me of the little games at Apple you pat $1-$2 for and play for a few weeks. You can hide parts of your content so your visitors enjoy some of it and then have to pay to see the rest. You can hide photos, text, video, whatever you wish. Your user buys the hidden content with a single click. It is made by a French team, so you can expect that there will be something that is unfinished. Pricing is deceptive. The “Free” version still requires from 10%-20% of your revenues be passed on to Cleeng. But they do not say it clearly anywhere, only hints here and there. I’d pass on this one.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    time delayed protection</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Paypal, SMS payment, most credit cards, and local bank solutions</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    subscription and pay-as-you-go options for customers on each item</li>
</ul>

Affiliates <a href="http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/affiliates.2.0.0.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>
The website is a disaster. It is so difficult to read I do not trust this guy’s skills at developing a clean interface. It is unclear also whether the integration plugins that support this plugin on various e-commerce platforms work with the free version or not. He says they do, but when you go to the page they are for purchase. On the free version’s page there is mention of pro and enterprise versions, but the enterprise version appears nowhere else. He must be French too. This is yet another confusing and deceptive plugin producer. I say skip it.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Immediate statistics of referrals and affiliate links</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    Integration with various shop plugins</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    infinite affiliates</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    easy sign-up process for affiliates</li>
</ul>

Coin of the Realm Download
Although the home page is part of a comics community and lacks any information at all on the plugin, this stands out as a rather unique approach to the affiliate award system. Rather than the traditional approach, COTR rewards users who refer visitors by giving them coins (points) towards digital downloads.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    login widget</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    donation progress widget</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    downloads widget with all downloads made by user</li>
</ul>

Ad Rotate Download
If you have ever dreamed of managing your own ads on your website, this plugin will do it for you. It is easy to set up and configurable to your heart’s delight.

Features:

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    associate banners with specific areas of your site</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    tie an ad to a particular user, or publisher</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    automatic email notification when problems arise with your ads</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    randomize ads</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    track CTR’s</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>    set an ad to be disabled after certain performance criteria are met</li>
</ul>

The Final Word
E-commerce plugins are so diverse that it is impossible to do them justice in this space, but these are a sampling. Site protection, an auction site, map locator, taking credit cards, spam protection, branding, monetization, an affiliate program, and ad management are all fantastic ways to expand a shop into a full e-commerce business.</div>
